Practice Profile & Ethos

Abp Chartered Architects was formed in 1998, and is a corporate member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and as required by law is on the register of architects administered by the Architects Registration Board (ARB).

Abp Chartered Architects is a South London based architectural practice that endeavours to work with all its clients as members of the design team, and assists the clients through the complex requirements of the planning and building regulatory systems, and other legal and statutory requirements governing the building process.

Principally, abp Chartered Architects believes that the project belongs to the client at the very start, and will work closely, wherever possible, with the client to realise the final architectural outcome.  We are not Richard Rogers, Norman Foster or some other big named architectural practice, but we are still an RIBA Chartered Practice.

Bernard Humphrey-Gaskin is the Head of Practice for abp Chartered Architects.   Bernard Humphrey-Gaskin qualified as an architect in 1987, and has a vast experience in the design and construction on various building types and has worked for notable practices such as RHWL, The Property Services Agency and WS Atkins.

Bernard Humphrey-Gaskin has run his own architectural business since 1991, and has worked in the educational, commercial and residential sectors.  He also has experience in theatre projects. ecological and green design projects.  Bernard Humphrey-Gaskin is also an experienced party wall surveyor and is a member  of  the Pyramus & Thisbe Club.
